We will release the inbound plan on February 21st.

Ishigaki (stone wall) culture
Ishigaki can be found everywhere in Nanmoku village, which has no flat
lands.
There is also a legend that says : “If you can't build ishigaki, you can't
become a good farmer”.
The ishigaki landscape of Hoshio village stands out from the rest.
The ishigaki made of kunugi stone quarried in Nanmoku village is a masterpiece,
and you can see the history of the people who lived in harmony with nature
instead of fighting against the steep mountains.
Old folk houses in Nakaniwa
The Nakaniwa district is lined with old houses that are more than 100 years
old, and there are still a group of old houses built in the Kazukake style,
which are academically valuable as traditional buildings.
An academic study was conducted over ten years ago and it was determined
that the entire courtyard area could be designated as a cultural property,
but as a result of discussions within the area, it was determined that
it would be difficult to preserve it as a cultural property as the population
continues to age. Unfortunately, we have decided to abandon the designation
as a cultural property.
However, with the Tomioka Silk Mill now registered as a World Heritage
Site, the fact that the old sericulture houses still remain in the Hoshio
village, which was a silkworm production area, has been recognized as the
area's greatest academic heritage. , it is important to pass it on to future
generations.
Furthermore, if we can collaborate with Shimonita Town, Tomioka City, Ueno
Village, etc., and hold events that touch on history and traditional culture
such as the Silk Road, Konnyaku Road, Whetstone Road, and Takeda Shingen
Road, it will greatly contribute to regional revitalization. .
